Kynem SB 1.5

Kynem SB 1.5 is a new antibacterial medicine that has been approved as an injectable product. This injectable medicine is a combination of Meropenem 1000 MG and Sulbactam 500 MG and has been developed as an injection. 

Composition of Kynem SB 1.5

Kynem SB 1.5 may be used to treat bacterial infections associated with the respiratory system, urinary system, abdomen, skin and soft tissues, and other areas where bacterial infection may be present or suspected.

This will vary depending on the severity of the bacterial infection and any other factors of concern. Each injection is an effective combination of a Beta-Lactamase Inhibitor and an antibiotic working in unison against a bacterial infection, depending on the situation. 

How Does Kynem SB 1.5 Work?

Kynem SB 1.5 is made up of Meropenem and Sulbactam, working to provide a broad spectrum of treatment. Meropenem is an effective antibacterial that works to break down bacterial cell walls. Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor, and as such it can be used to fight certain bacterial enzymes which could weaken other beta-lactam antibiotics. Administration and Dosage 

Kynem SB 1.5 is a prescription-only medicine. It is administered by injection by a healthcare professional into a vein (intravenous infusion) using the suggested route and dose as recommended by the doctor. It is usually administered for a period of time depending on factors such as severity of infection, type of infection, age, body weight, kidney function and clinical condition.

Patients are not advised to self-administer Kynem SB 1.5 without instructions from the doctor or change the dose as prescribed by the doctor. Use of meropenem in renal impairment and changing the renal dose between meropenem-containing regimens require the advice of a doctor. 

Important safety information

Kynem SB 1.5 side effects may include nausea, vomiting, skin rash, injection site reaction and alteration of individual laboratory and blood test results. Kynem SB 1.5 is supplied in the form of a Vial WFI Tray Pack. Product should be stored as per storage conditions mentioned on pack and product literature. Reconstitution and preparation should be performed by competent personnel in aseptic conditions, using a recommended diluent.
